About Lucy

Born in England in 1968, Lucy discovered her passion for ceramics through exposure to the traditional English pottery of renowned UK potter Michael Cardew’s family and their work.

Lucy later studied with Japanese trained potter, Yolande Beer in Sussex, England.

Lucy’s creative force was always there from a child but her serious training as a potter began in 2002 when she attended Lismore TAFE, completing a 3 year diploma course.

Encouraged by her mentors Lucy began to sell her work at the local Northern Rivers craft markets. This was the start of a loyal following for her work and has proved to be her main source of exposure, attracting interest from galleries, collectors and the press.

In 2005 Lucy opened the Wheel of Life Studio and Gallery in Brunswick Heads where her desire to share her craft and inspire others lead her to holding pottery workshops and classes for children and adults from a fully operational and well equipped studio.

The creative space and gallery is tucked away in an old church hall in Fingal Street in the small beach town of Brunswick Heads. Visitors are welcome to the gallery and see Lucy at work.
